Ep 32: Jacque Arend with Bill Murray’s Nick The Lounge Singer

Our first Bill Murray character is arguably SNL’s first truly iconic character. Stop watching those Star Wars and start listening to this episode featuring Nick The Lounge Singer. eJaqcue Arend is a performer, comedian, director, and instructor based out of Phoenix. Like Nick, Jacque is a fun loving and charismatic presence who brightens up everyone she talks to. We talk about the origin of the Nick, the joy in watching someone be so bad at something that they’re actually kinda good at it, the specific difference between young and old Bill Murray, as well as the fluid blur of memory Jacque has from growing up with a TV in her bedroom (and it had cable!). Jacque brings a lot of spirit to this episode as we talk about the oldest character to date on Saturday Night Characters.

“Looking back, I can see just how influential this character was for me.” ~ Jacque
